Is FF7 Fatigue Real? + Multiverse Clues in the Final Fantasy VII Revelation Trailer!
The final chapter is officially upon us. With the massive trailer drop for Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, Square Enix is pulling back the curtain on the endgame—but are they hiding the biggest plot twists right in plain sight?
In today’s episode, we are breaking down the reveal trailer frame-by-frame and diving into some major theories. Is the new FITS outfit/job customization system actually a clever visual disguise for alternate-reality versions of Cloud and Tifa? With Aerith conspicuously absent from the footage, is that final empty party slot actually reserved for Zack Fair to make a permanent crossover? We’re breaking down why evolving the narrative away from a strict beat-by-beat remake is the best decision Square Enix could have made.
Plus, we are diving straight into the community timeline. I review and react to the mixed, highly divided comment section from my recent TikTok video checking the temperature on "Final Fantasy VII Fatigue." With a 7-year gap from Remake to Revelation, has the decade-long development cycle exhausted the fanbase? And if a legendary franchise like FF7 is causing this much mixed fatigue, will Square Enix ever attempt a multi-game mega-remake model like this ever again?

GalaxyCon just took over the Oklahoma City Convention Center, and after walking the floor, checking out the panels, and seeing how the whole event was put together, I’ve got some thoughts.
We love the culture, we show up, and we pay premium prices—but what actually turns a convention from a massive room full of tables into an unforgettable weekend? Today, I’m giving my brutally honest review of GalaxyCon OKC and breaking down the 3 Pillars that organizers are completely missing when it comes to making a convention fun for the fans.
Question of the Day: What is your absolute biggest pet peeve when you walk onto a convention floor? Is it the lack of atmosphere, lazy panels, or seeing the exact same vendor stalls over and over again? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!

We aren't the same gamers we were in 2013. Is nostalgia blinding us to modern masterpieces?
Welcome back to The Batmandrew Podcast.
Today, we are dissecting a viral debate that perfectly highlights the state of modern gaming discourse and the toxicity within the community.
I recently came across a clip of a creator explaining why they walked away from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 after 12 hours because the emotional hooks didn't land for them. In response, another creator labeled his take "disingenuous," using the legendary opening of The Last of Us as the gold standard of how tragedy should be handled.
While I actually think the emotional weight in Expedition 33 was fully earned, I completely disagree with the idea that someone's personal experience is "fake" just because they didn't feel it. Today, we are breaking down why both of these creators are missing the real culprit: Historical Context and Genre Expectations.
When The Last of Us dropped Sarah's scene, it was the "Shock of the New." We hadn't been conditioned for that level of cinematic devastation in a prologue. Today, we are narrative detectives; we enter high-budget RPGs braced for impact, expecting the twist. That doesn't make modern games worse—it just means our collective armor is up.
Let's talk about why context is everything and why we need to stop telling people their subjective opinions are "wrong."

Welcome back to The Loot Drop! Today, we are cracking the seal on Disc 2 of Final Fantasy IX, and the stakes have officially reached "Legendary" levels. If Disc 1 was a colorful fairytale escape from Alexandria, Disc 2 is a brutal reminder that Square Enix knows exactly how to pull our heartstrings and tear a fantasy world apart.
We are going full SPOILER MODE today, so if you haven't witnessed the destruction of Cleyra yet, hit the airlock and finish the disc first!
In this Disc 2 Deep Dive, we discuss:
A World in Flames: The absolute devastation of Cleyra and Lindblum. We break down how it feels to watch these beautiful locations get absolutely wiped off the map by Eidolons, and how the tone shifts from a standard fantasy war to something much darker.
The "B-Team" Split: How the game handles splitting the party between Alexandria and Cleyra. Does the pacing hold up, or were you itching to get the main squad back together?
New Loot & Allies: Our thoughts on Quina's "Eat" mechanic (is it a Legendary mini-game or a chore?) and the second summoner, Eiko. Plus, we HAVE to talk about Beatrix’s epic redemption arc in the Alexandria basement!
The Garnet Identity Twist: The "Inception-style" reveal of Garnet’s true past in Madain Sari. Finding out she isn't actually an Alexandrian princess completely flips her character arc on its head.
The Iifa Tree & Kuja's Ascension: Shifting from a political war story to cosmic horror. We break down the fall of Queen Brahne and Kuja taking the reins of Bahamut to become a literal god of destruction.Subscribe to The Loot Drop as we get ready to dive straight into the "Mist" for our Disc 3 review next!

We start by drawing battle lines: Final Fantasy VII vs. Final Fantasy VIII. Is VII truly the GOAT, or is it overrated? Is VIII a misunderstood masterpiece, or does the Junction system hold it back? We’re settling the score (or at least starting the fire).
Then, we crack open the Theory Archive to discuss the wildest connections in the franchise, including:
The Cid Imagination Theory: Is the entire multiverse just a child’s play session?
The Shinra Connection: How the family from FFX-2 potentially founded the corporate empire of FFVII.
The Squall is Dead Paradox: Does the story of FFVIII actually end at the close of Disc 1?

Are you Team Cloud or Team Squall? Which theory do you believe is actually canon? Drop a comment below and join the Warriors of Light!

Welcome back to The Loot Drop!
First, shout out to our guest The Dadman!
Today, we are cracking the seal on the most polarizing entry in the franchise: Final Fantasy XVI. I’ve spent a lot of time sitting with Clive, Torgal, and the world of Valisthea, and I have some thoughts that might ruffle a few feathers.
We are going full SPOILER MODE today. If you haven't finished Clive’s journey, hit the airlock and finish the game first—because we have to talk about that ending!
In this "First Thought" Review, we’re breaking down:
The Identity Crisis: FFXVI is a technical masterpiece and a 10/10 action game, but something felt missing. We discuss the "noticeable" absence of party management and RPG depth that we usually expect from a Final Fantasy "Loot Drop."
The Jill Warrick Problem: Jill is an incredible character, but was she underused? I dive into why the Dominant of Shiva deserved more agency and why her role felt sidelined in the grander narrative.
The "Inception" Ending: That final scene on the beach left us with a massive cliffhanger. We’re breaking down the symbolism, the book, and the fan theories. Was it a heroic sacrifice, or did Clive find a way back?
The Final Verdict: How does it rank on our Loot Scale? Is it Legendary for the spectacle or Rare for the soul?
What’s your take on the ending? Did Clive write the book, or was it Joshua? Let’s settle the debate in the comments!
Subscribe to The Loot Drop for more deep-dives into the lore, the stories, and the loot that actually matters.

This week on the pod, we are diving deep into some absolute heavyweights. From the golden age of JRPGs to the most unhinged superhero drama on TV, we’ve got a lot to unpack.
In This Episode:
Final Fantasy IX (Disc 1 Review): I’m finally back in Alexandria! We’re breaking down the legendary opening act, the "play within a play," and why the ending of Disc 1 (Beatrix, I’m looking at you) still hits just as hard in 2026.
Daredevil: Born Again (S2, Ep 1-4): The Man Without Fear is back, and the gloves are officially off. We’re discussing the return of the Netflix-era grit and that intense dynamic between Matt and Bullseye.
The Boys (S5, Ep 1-2): We are in the endgame now. Reacting to the final season’s explosive premiere—Homelander’s mental state, Butcher’s new V-powers, and that insane opening sequence.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink: My thoughts on this "completely random" find. If you’re looking for a flashy, snappy action-RPG that respects your time, you need to hear about this one.
CinemaCon 2026 – Spider-Man: Brand New Day: Sony dropped the new posters and a synopsis for the next Tom Holland chapter! We’re breaking down the "Brand New Day" vibe and what Peter Parker’s "surprising physical evolution" could mean.
Question of the Week: Which trailer from CinemaCon has you the most hyped? And for the FF fans—is Vivi the greatest character in the franchise? Let me know in the comments!
